Ivory-Trimmed Houndstooth Dominion Suit

The houndstooth detail catches light in ways I wasn't expecting—definitely a conversation starter without being loud. Fit true to size through the chest; the Dominion cut gave me room in the shoulders. Stanley's tailor had it hemmed and took in the jacket sides in about ten days, all included.

Wore this to my son's naming ceremony in the community and felt proud in it. The houndstooth gives it personality without breaking formality, and the fit right out of the box was almost there—Stanley's crew adjusted the sleeves and I was done. Packed well for travel too.

The ivory trim is elegant and the wool drape is solid—heavy enough that it holds shape all night. Ran slightly slim through the shoulders, so I had Stanley let out the armholes a touch. Once altered, it felt custom-made.

The construction is solid—canvas chest, proper weight—but the ivory satin trim felt a bit matte in person. Still wearable and the fit after alterations was clean. Just didn't have the pop I was hoping for under formal lighting.

My son wore this to his senior prom and we both felt like we got more than we paid for. The Italian wool is buttery, the houndstooth is subtle but distinct, and the alterations were included—no surprise bill. He got compliments all night.
